SEPTA stands for Special Education PTA which is designed to help parents advocate for special needs children. It is important for parents, teachers, and other concerned adults to be well informed about the education rights of special needs children. SEPTA members address common concerns and participate in activities that benefit and enrich the lives of children. The interaction of special needs students with other students and adults can be a mutually rewarding experience, and SEPTA can encourage community understanding about the importance of special needs programs. Smithtown SEPTA welcomes the membership of any member of our community. You do not have to have a child receiving special education services to be a member of SEPTA.

Meetings are held on the first Monday of every month at the Joseph M. Barton Building on New York Avenue.
